“Simply wonderful Asian wedding photographer! The perfect choice. David quietly captured all those special moments, created timeless images, when I saw the first instalment I just thought Wow!” – Umal
Earlier this year, I had the total privilege of being invited by the couple to photograph their Asian wedding in Manchester. The celebrations were spread over an entire week and I enjoyed every second of that time with them. I still can’t get over how warm and welcoming the families were, having drinks and the most delicious home-cooked food thrust upon me, even food given to me in tubs as I left to eat and share at home – it was like a dream come true! ha.
A more modern, a more natural approach to photographing Asian weddings.
1 big wedding, 8 days photographing
The scale of this wedding was so huge, it would take 5 blog posts to do it full justice, but for now, I have picked just some of my favourite images taken, posted in a random order, to give you a feel of what the week was like – fun, tears, dancing, colour, henna, and even a group shot which you very rarely see posted from me. The week included house parties, dancing and singing competitions, the wedding ceremony, a dancing show, a 600 guest meal in the centre of Manchester, several ‘quirky’ brothers (haha – got to know these well), lots and lots of delicious food, a trip to the Town Hall to meet the mayor, a walk around Castlefield, the very emotional time of bride leaving after mid-night, a trip to a mosque at 1am and the most amazing and lovely couple you will ever meet – Umal and Raza. What an incredible Manchester Asian wedding to photograph. Umal has written about her week and I have posted this further down.
I’m available to photograph any culture of Asian wedding anywhere in the UK. I bring a natural, less posed approach to the celebration.

The bride’s thoughts on their wedding day
It was an emotional roller coaster and I feel like the luckiest girl in the World. Not only did I get to marry and share my life with the most lovely and caring gentleman, but thanks to my amazing, one in a million parents, backed up by all my family, fulfil all my dreams of a glorious, grand and extravagant Asian Wedding.
Where do you start with this? I think Umal has summed it up perfectly above – you’ve done a simply outstanding job of photographing this amazing wedding. They chose their photographer well – these images will be treasured for many, many years. Well done David, Martin and Andrew!
