Photographing both the bride and groom preparations?

Absolutely! As long as you are no more than a 30 minute drive from one another, I photograph both bride and groom preparations as you would have seen in all my featured weddings and blog posts. Every wedding is different but I spend maybe 30 mins with the groom and groomsmen, the rest of the time with the bride, but also I like to be at the ceremony location 30 minutes before the wedding ceremony so I can be around to get more of the groom and guests arriving.

DO YOU DO FAMILY GROUP SHOTS?

Of course! Not every couples wants family group photos, but most do. This part is not documentary photography and different to how I work for most the day, but the family photos are important, even if they are just for mum or nan. I have mastered doing these quickly so it doesn’t eat too much into your time relaxing and having fun with family and friends. 8 groups takes approx 10 minutes.

DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY, WHAT IS THAT?

It’s a mind-set, a philosophy, and how I would approach your day. I believe that if something is staged, then it has no meaning at all, no matter how good the photo looks. If a moment is captured, without stopping, posing, or any interaction from myself, then that photo will have genuine sentimental value to you. So for almost the entire day, I photograph in a documentary style, please just forget I am there, enjoy your day and let events flow naturally. Read more documentary photography.

HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL TO WEDDINGS?

As far as I am needed. Half my weddings are in the north-west, the other half are up and down the country, including Scotland, Wales and London. I am available for destination weddings too with my furthest weddings being in Zanzibar, Tanzania & Orange County, CA. Other destinations I have photographed include Spain, Santorini, Italy and France. Although I am a wedding photographer based in Manchester, I travel anywhere in the world.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE OUR PHOTOS AFTER OUR WEDDING DAY?

It depends on how many weddings I have photographed just before yours, but it usually takes between 5 and 6 weeks. Around 5 weeks for November to May weddings, approx 6 weeks for June to October weddings.

HOW MANY PHOTOS DO WE GET?

There is no limit to the number of photos you will receive, but usually it is over 500 – each one fully edited to the highest possible standard and consistent with the look of my photos you can see on my website – the David Stubbs signature style. The photos you get are high resolution, watermark free, and you can use them for yourselves however you like – prints, make your own album, wall art etc.

CAN WE PRINT OUR PHOTOS?

Yes! You receive all the 500+ fully edited images via digital download with permission to use them for personal use. Share the gallery link and password with anyone anywhere in the world and they will be able to view and download the images to share and print themselves. There is also a specialist app for iOS and Android which is the best way to view and download your images for tablets or mobile.

DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH DETAILS SUCH AS DRESS AND SHOES?

Yes, but naturally. I’m going to show off the dress and shoes as part of the day, not as a ‘posed’ photo, and certainly not hung from a tree. I want to show off the dress detail whilst you are wearing it, the same for your shoes. This then has more meaning. I ask you hang your dress up somewhere near you when you are getting ready and it will naturally feature in the photos as the day is unfolding. Please read more about my awards and published work.

MY FRIEND HAS A GOOD CAMERA,SURELY HE CAN BE MY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER FOR LESS MONEY?

They could, but whether it’s on your wedding day, or when you see your photos, or years down the line, you will regret it! A professional photographer such as myself has photographed hundreds of weddings, we have professional equipment that costs £30,000+, we have the experience to ensure your day runs smoothly, the technical knowledge to deal with any situation, back-up equipment in case something breaks. Nothing is off the table for me. I love capturing real moments. To be honest, I get bored photographing the same things, so get all excited looking for new ones. Many of the photos I take, I could never have created myself, even if you gave me an hour. The expressions, the laughter, the mood and feeling of the photo – it’s real, this can’t be created.
