I jumped at the chance to help out wedding photographer ace, and good friend Martin Hambleton at Holly & Will’s Colshaw Hall wedding in December last year. It’s not very often I assist another photographer but a superb learning experience for both. With no pressure to get the ‘must have’ shots and full creative reign to capture moments from alternative angles, thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Being December in the middle of Cheshire, it was a freezing cold day, with the lake even partly frozen over which you can see below, but the sun was out and it was clear from first arriving at Colshaw Hall that everyone involved was going to make this a good one. It was my first Colshaw Hall wedding and the rumors were true – one of the finest Cheshire wedding venues there is. Holly and Will got married in the ceremony room by the lake, then popped over to the hall itself for drinks, music and their wedding breakfast. I only stayed until the meal, with Martin continuing on into the night, so I missed the speeches and dancing, but what an incredible job Red Floral did dressing the room. Some beautiful flowers, but it was the masses of candles that made this unique – hundreds and hundreds of them flickering in both the ceremony and wedding breakfast rooms.
This is just a small sample of the photos I took – enjoy looking through. If you are looking for a photographer for your Colshaw Hall wedding, please get in touch and if I’m available I would be delighted to cover your special day.
