When I received a phone call from Ruth last year asking me if I was available to photograph her and Mark’s wedding, of course I was delighted. When she told me that they were having a beach wedding on the island of Anglesey (Wales) and that their wedding reception will be in a Yurt nearby, I couldn’t have been more excited!! I was so nervous for them leading up to the wedding as everything depended on the weather. You only have to look at the photos above and below this out of the corner of your eye that they had the most glorious day ever! Blue sea, blue sky and blue suits to match. This was a Anglesey wedding photography experience to remember.
Before speaking to Ruth, I didn’t now what a yurt was. It turns out to be a round shape ‘tent’ that Mongolian’s live in. What a unique and interesting venue to hold your wedding ceremony. Have a look at the photos below and see their wedding yurt set-up. This Anglesey beach wedding was obviously very different but the most random thing happened during Ruth’s bridal preparations. Only around an hour before the wedding, Ruth and her chief bridesmaid decided it would be fun to take a dip into the sea!! Mad!!
More of the story further down…
After the Anglesey beach wedding ceremony, all the guests headed to the Yurt for drinks. I took Ruth and mark along the beach for some stunning photos. Because the sun was beating down, and no shade to speak of, these are actually very difficult conditions to photograph in. I was so pleased they agreed to take a walk along the cliffs for a different perspective. I had such an incredible time photographing this Anglesey beach wedding.
What a memorable day! My first beach wedding and I can’t wait until my next. I will hopefully be returning to Anglesey again soon for another wedding.
