Are you looking for a photographer for your Town Head Estate wedding?
I work at many venues but being a Town Head Estate Wedding Photographer is just incredible. Around a third of the weddings I photograph are in The Lakes and one of the best of them is Town Head Estate. It is set in the heart of the National Park, on the southern tip of Windermere, it is a grade i and grade ii listed converted barn. To start off, it is a privilege that Town Head Estate is using one of my photos from Helen and Tom’s wedding on the front page of their current wedding brochure. What a great place to get married.

Town Head Estate is the dream venue to photograph
Helen and Tom had the most perfect wedding at Town Head Estate. They had their outdoor ceremony just beyond the landscaped garden and by the venue’s private shore line. The ceremony was set-up with benches in the open air. Now the rules in England have changed, legal ceremonies can happen in the open air and no longer needs to be under a fixed structure. This has opened up the possibilities to wed in different ways. It provides opportunities to enjoy the weather, and the stunning scenery while you exchange rings. Helen and Tom chose to celebrate right down by the Lakeside in part of the 130 acres of land that Town Head Estate own. The newlyweds then walked up through the estate (which made for the best natural photos of the day) and through the landscaped gardens to have their drinks reception in the sunshine. The private lake frontage was the ideal setting for the first part of their day, but the grounds offer so much more.

For their breakfast they could have chosen the Grand Ballroom, but as this was mid-summer they chose the outdoor setting next to the barn on the terrace near the courtyard. This was one of my only weddings I have photographed where the entire day was held outside. Town Head Estate really does have it all. I use a mix of different lens choices with my camera to get different angles. It is great to get all the scenery in, but then to use a telephoto lens to get more emotive images. Those panoramic views are something to behold.
As the sun set in the evening, the couple took the short walk down to the body of water by the boat house and along the jetty. I didn’t interact or pose the photos with them during this time, but captured some wonderful compositions with the jetty, and also the setting sun. This was my favourite period of photos of their wedding at Town Head Estate.

BBQ was the dish of the day. Cooked right by the guests and served from the BBQ, this was a great for the guests. This is one option Town Head Estate offers and photographing the reaction was a joy. For the evening wedding party, back in the barn, everyone had a great time dancing to the band. One of my favourite shots of the day was shooting the couple’s first dance from outside the barn offering a unique angle and perspective to the dance. I always light the dancing with a flash gun or two, and this helps with these types of shots. The Town Head Estate wedding photo was made even better as the initials ‘TH’ was visible within the photo above the oak door frame.
