Being a Thornton Manor wedding photographer is one of those very special thing. It is simply one of the best venues in all the North West and I just love shooting there. It offers everything from a grand manor house, sculptured gardens and a great team who look afre you on the day. My style of photography is all about natural and relaxed images. Below is a handful of my favourites taken at this Thornton Manor wedding all taken in my award winning unposed style.

Incredible wedding at Thornton Manor

One of Cheshire’s premier wedding venues set on the Wirral, first built in the middle of the 19th Century. With its spacious grounds and numerous rooms and halls to choose from to get married, it is the perfect place to get married and to be a Thornton manor wedding photographer. Shooting here is just a dream, I can’t believe I get to use a camera for a living.

The Manor House is one of the most grand venues in the entire North-West. Danni and her bridesmaids used the bridal suite for their preparations. The flowers girls made the morning, having fun in their dresses and with their flowers. I love photographing at Thornton Manor, just brilliant. The backdrops from almost every angle make for capturing great photos.

NOT FOR POSERS!

Photographing the evening fireworks

Into the evening, after the speeches was time for the cake cutting, first dance and then party. Danni & Ben surprised all their guests with Thornton Manor fireworks in the evening. Everyone headed outside the grand hall, into the cold, sparklers in hand. So much fun to be part of, all the wedding guests loved it and it made for wonderful photos.

Below is a short gallery of photos from Danni and Ben’s wedding at Thornton Manor. Whether you are getting married in the Manor House, Waterside Marquee, Lakeside Marquee or Walled Garden Pavilion, then please get in touch to discuss your wedding photography.

What Thornton Manor has to offer

For a touch of magic, head to Thornton Manor for a lakeside wedding with sparkle. From luxurious touches to tons of space for guests and a beautiful lakeside setting, Thornton Manor is sure to shimmer its way to the top of your list for your wedding. Situated in Wirral, Cheshire, sought-after Thornton Manor is a spectacular Grade II listed stately home in the picturesque north west countryside – incredible for photographers. Frequented by many members of the royal family, as well as heads of state and other famous faces over the years, this is an astounding venue for so many reasons. Offering up a sumptuous Elizabethan Manor House, divine Lakeside marquee, woodland Waterside Pavilion and impressive Walled Garden Marquee, you have all of the ingredients needed to create the unique, personalised event that you want. Then too, there is the added plus of exclusive use of the venues for the day.

Built in the 1800s, William Lever (of the Lever Brothers – now known as Unilever), renovated and extended Thornton Manor making it into the stunning place that it is today. Use of the sumptuous Manor House and contemporary marquees means that you have so much choice for where to hold the ceremony, drinks reception, dinner and dancing. For the ceremony alone there are rooms, pavilions, spaces and marquees to choose from. Inside the Manor House there are exquisitely decorated, opulent period rooms, providing three alternatives for the service alone. Featuring walnut panelling, ornate plaster work, refined period paintings on the walls and a view to the magnificent grounds outside, you are guaranteed to feel special when you exchange your vows, whichever room you choose. This looks just incredible in your wedding photographs too, the light is just stunning and a joy to use a camera at.

Beautiful Light for a wedding in the Manor House

Ben and his groomsmen got ready in a nearby cottage aptly named ‘Groom’s Cottage’ at Thornton Manor. Lots of fun and antics before heading to the Manor for the main ceremony. The light during the ceremony is just perfect for wedding photos because of the large bright windows at the far end, lighting the newlyweds perfectly. After the rings were exchanged and register signed, it was time for drinks and canapes. Confetti followed later and some portraits of the couple.

Where to get married?

Marquees and the pavilion by the lake, are grand, spacious and bright. With floor to ceiling windows, endless grounds and plenty of space on the dance floor, the only difficulty is which to choose. Whether it is the bewitching waterside spaces with their boats, meadows and bridges or exclusive, palatial walled garden with its sweeping lawns – your guests will be blown away. Flexible too, are the guest numbers with the Waterside Pavilion, seating 40 or more, perfect for intimate celebrations and the Walled Garden Marquee with space for up to 1,000 seated guests. With 120 acres of grounds, set in the romantic, lush, green north west English countryside, whichever way you turn, Thornton Manor is bursting with fragrant flowers, lush trees and plants, and of course, the lake.

Boasting 22 double bedrooms, plus 14 cottage and mews apartments, there is more than enough room for guests to spend the night. The four-poster Lady Lever Room is yours for the night, of course. Then there are the other 21, a mixture of four posters, doubles and singles, plus the 14 apartments in the grounds outside. The options continue for the evening entertainment. With full entertainment and Thornton Manor’s alcohol licences, live bands, fireworks and DJs are possibilities that are all open to you. There is even a welcome for cars and pets, with a large car park, this amazing venue is pet-friendly too. For wedding food, the choice is yours, whether seated or buffet, with local suppliers and seasonal food, you’ll be well catered for. The dazzling standards and reputation are evidently the work of a caring and committed team.
