When Hannah and Ben got in touch a while back and said they were going to have a woodland wedding at Delamere Forest, with a festival twist and full of crazy games, well, I couldn’t have been more excited. This was to be my first time as a woodland wedding photographer, so I packed my wellies, my coat, umbrella and prepared for the worst. How glorious could the day have been for them though, just look at that sky above! Well… that and the wellies… This was a woodland wedding to remember and a total joy to photograph.
Bob from Woodland Weddings is a bit of a genius, creating a company that specialises in weddings in open area and woodland. Most parents would squirm at the thought of such a unique wedding experience, but just look at the fun everyone had. Hannah slipped into her Jimmy Choos (how appropriate?!?) and married Ben at church. Then taking nothing other than a trio of original Mini Cooper S’ out through the countryside to Delamere Forest, the location for this incredible woodland wedding.
Popping the cork competition, tug-of-war (the girls won!), welly-wanging (yes it’s actually a sport!), fire-pits with marshmallows and hot s’mores (I didn’t know what this was either, but you melt 2 chocolate digestive biscuits and squash a hot marshmallow in the middle creating a diabetes sandwich – delicious), a spectacular sunset over the mere and two great families coming together to celebrate Hannah and Ben’s wedding day. What a super day it was to be a woodland wedding photographer, please have a good look through their day below. Just 100-ish photos from the many hundreds they got. A massive congrats to Hannah and Ben!

Thank you Vie, it was one of those days, i thought it was going to rain all day but turned out to be just perfect, a wedding fall of colour.
I absolutely adore those sunset shots of the bride and groom. Simply Beautiful!
Thank you Emily, it was a bit special that sunset through the woods. Worth the effort to head down to the lake.
