Looking for a Photographer for your Sorrento Wedding?
This post about Sorrento wedding photography is a little different to most. It is a pleasure to shoot any wedding, but when good friends invite you as both guest and a photographer it made it that much more special. This was a great trip to Italy, let alone the Amalfi Coast or Sorrento. John, the groom, is a photographer and videographer himself. I first met him back in the UK 8 years ago and have been good friends since. He was marrying the gorgeous Mel and I so happy to be writing this whilst they are expecting their first child together. Sorrento which is built on the Amalfi cliffs is the most incredible and picturesque setting for a wedding you could imagine.

Sorrento and photographing weddings
It was nice working alongside another good friend of mine – Adam Johnson from ARJ photography. Adam was in charge of capturing bridal preparations and to take the couple away for their portraits together. My role with the camera was a little different. I very much stuck with my natural style of imagery and shot everything behind the scenes (as well as enjoying a drink as a guest). You will see from lots of images below taken at this Sorrento event are behind the scenes shots of Adam doing his thing.
Although I am based in the UK, I travel for several destination celebrations every year. So if you are looking for an English speaking photographer for your Sorrento wedding, then I could be him. I offer a completely natural and relaxed style of photography for couples who hate posing for the camera.

Sorrento is the most picturesque wedding destination
Italy is just one of those very special parts of the world that everyone must visit at some point or another. For a holiday or for a wedding, it is just spectacular. Sorrento is one of the most picturesque towns there is. Set along the Amalfi Coast, upon high cliff faces it is a feast for the eyes. Every tourist you see has a camera in their hand taking photos at every opportunity. In fact I found this on Mel and Johns day, locals and tourists jumping in to grab their own snaps. You can see a lady in yellow above. She refused to move out of my frame and composition – haha. Every other restaurant in the town serves the very best of pizza on offer. This destination wedding has it all. You arrive by landing in the city of Naples, then a short drive south along the coast, past Pompeii and into Sorrento. The first landmark you notice when looking out to see is the massive and infamous Mt Vesuvius standing tall in the distance. I managed to feature this in at least a couple of the images above at the wedding. Sorrento is known for it’s lemons, and of course they use this in the local drink – limoncello (something I may have sampled a few times during the wedding).

Photography at this Italian Town
A huge and massive congrats to John and Mel on their wedding. It was a true honour to be part of your special day and capture memories for you. Sorrento was the perfect destination for it and I loved every second.
John and Mel tied the knot in the famous The Cloister of San Francesco which is a 700 hundred year old monastery in the centre of Sorrento. This must be one of the most romantic wedding ceremony locations in all of Italy, or even the world. Afterwards it was a walk for all the guests through the streets of Sorrento and then onto Villa Silvana for their reception. I must admit, I had it easy. John and Mel looked just amazing, and the location made it hard to take a bad photo. Please enjoy looking through these natural Sorrento wedding photos.
