Lingholm Estate’s incredible architecture

Lingholm Estate offers a grand house. The stone room is the place most tie the knot and get married. With its high ceilings, leaded windows and a stone fireplace. The 1605 fireplace is cosy and warm if you are having a winter wedding here. The oak panelling offers dark tones, which makes for great photos as this is what makes a low key effect. I create compositions that makes the subject stand out against this back drop. The Victorian Architect, Alfred Waterhouse, was the man that designed and built Lingholm Estate. He designed it with the views over the Lake and mountains. It has it’s own jetty out onto the water which newlyweds can take a walk for some pictures with the impressive backdrop.

Wedding Photography at this unique venue

Not too far away is the popular mountain called catcalls, a popular place for hikers and photographers alike. On the evening of Anthony and Charntel’s wedding it was the annual light up where locals head up the mountain and shine their touches. This created an incredible effect for their wedding photographs at Lingholm Estate. Unique in fact. This annual celebration were lucky to have good weather and it could be viewed from miles around. The married couple, along with all their guests headed outside to see this and some terrific photos.

A big thank you to Janina Brocklesby for shadowing me on this wedding as part of my training and mentoring programmes.

The Lingholm Estate also has a marquee or tipi on the grounds. This is where the newly married couple had their meal and their evening party. Nettled just down from the main house, it was perfect for a change of scenery from the main house and made the photos much better.
