Wedding season is now in full flow and I was delighted to be asked to photograph Rachael and Steve’s Coniston Hotel wedding this May. The day for me started with a lovely drive into the Yorkshire hills to Rachael’s Grandfather’s house for the bridal preparations. An old stone house with a decor that you would expect from a grandfather – such a nice space with lots of character. Lauren Sally was in charge of hair and make-up for Rachael and her bridesmaids.
I then headed over to the church in Linton for the ceremony and met up with Steve and the boys. I couldn’t get over how secluded this church was, nestled in the countryside with lots of open space. For their wedding reception, it was over to the Coniston Hotel. First we stopped on the estate for some photos, and it was important to included the horses as Steve is a proud to be part of the mounted police. The wind was blowing, really quite hard actually, which sent Rachael’s veil soaring in the air on more than one occasion. When they arrived at the Coniston Hotel, the couple and all the guests were entertained by the incredible Graeme Cox – wedding singer. Graeme was a big part of the day, singing through the meal and providing an hours set after the first dance which got everyone on the dance floor.
Rachael’s Grandfather had made their wedding cake – just beautiful. Later in the evening when the sun was starting to set, the manager at the Coniston Hotel kindly drove us round to the estate one more time to capture the very best Coniston Hotel wedding photography using the low warm light. A must see!
Just a few of my favourites from their wedding day at the Coniston Hotel below. An incredible day and I wish Rachael and Steve a life-time of happiness together.
