Julia and John got married at one of Manchester’s best wedding venues, and one of my favoruites – Didsbury House Hotel. Set in Didsbury this boutique hotel is the perfect setting for a glorious wedding and for story telling wedding photography.
No stopping or fake poses – just story telling
As a wedding photographer who specilises in a documentary approach to weddings, story telling is essential. The idea being that the photos tell the story of their wedding day. Real moments captured is what it is all about for me. If a moment is captured for real then it becomes a real memory for what happened. So nothing fake or posed. Not a single photo in this set was posed. I stay in the background and watch and listen to what is going on and capture moments that tell the story of the day.
Kids are great to photograph at weddings
No bridal preparations where required so I started with John at the hotel and Julia arrived later on in a cool extended mini. Their two children, and many neices and nephews also joined them for their day which created such a fun and family vibe to the day. Kids are also great to photograph. Sometimes there is a lull in weddings after the meal and before the evening begins, but the kids are always up to something which makes photographing this part of the wedding day more fun.
Below are a few photos from their day. Each one telling part of their wedding story. Enjoy looking through.
