It is just incredible being a Shrigley Hall wedding photographer. It was the last day of the year, New Years Eve. A day of party and fun and that’s exactly what this wedding was to photograph. Here are just a few of my favourite images from James & Amanda’s special day. Everything photographed in a natural documentary style.
Are you looking for a photographer for your Shrigley Hall wedding?
The dance floor was packed all night. Then on the countdown to midnight confetti canons, hats, and lots of other stuff came out to celebrate the new year. What a super special day to photograph. I love being a taking wedding photos at Shrigley Hall. I’m looking forward to my next wedding here later in the year. A huge congratulations to Amanda and James on their wedding at Shrigley Hall.
Quite simply our initial reaction to our Shrigley Hall photos was sheer joy and amazement. You portrayed perfectly our, and our family and friends, emotions and feelings on the day and surprised us with the moments you captured of just the two of us – when we didn’t even realise you were there! – James & Amanda

Preparations for the wedding
I began the day at Shrigley Hall with James and his groomsmen before then heading over to Amanda’s family home for the bridal preparations. A few tears as gifts and cards were given to each other. I remember Amanda’s dad specifically asking me not to photograph him hoovering the red carpet… The church service was not too far away. A really lovely ceremony and a great place to get married. Lots of confetti, and more confetti before jumping in the cars for the rest of the day, or New Year at Shrigley Hall. Everyone was just so easy to get on with, and with everyone also in good spirits it just made my job as the wedding photographer an enjoyable one.
Relaxed documentary photography at Shrigley Hall
I have been to Shrigley Hall a few times in the past, but my first time on New Years Eve. Champagne for the guests whilst Amanda and James went for a short walk together braving the winter cold to get some nice relaxed photos together. I think also a nice time to just have a break from everything. The room was set-up beautifully by Precious Things – Event styling and wedding florist. After some delicious food during the wedding breakfast, it was then time for the speeches. This was the time of the day I was looking for most with it being New Years Eve. I always insist I am hired to post-midnight for New Years Eve, regardless of the venue I am at. It made it all the bit special being at such a wonderful place as Shrigley Hall.
