New Dungeon Ghyll Wedding Photography – Sara + Mike

I love nothing more than travelling up to the Lake District to photograph a wedding. This is where my wife and I got married ourselves. Sara and Mike decided to do things a little bit different. Travelling over from Australia where they live, and to the rural area of The Langdales, set towards mid-west side of the Lakes. The Langdales is a very popular area for visitors as it is a large vallery surrounded by some of the most picturesque mountains in the area. The backdrop was just stunning. The venue they chose was New Dungeon Ghyll – a popular haunt for hikers to have a good drink after climbing one of the neighboring mountains.

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony

Again Sara and Mike wanted to do something a different and that was to get married outdoors. English law states you must get married under a fixed and licensed premises. So they did the legal bit another day and had a humanist celebrant to conduct the outdoor ceremony. The weather was great, and just a beautiful place to get married. New Dungeon Ghyll is now one of my favourite venues for photographing a wedding.

Relaxed Wedding Photography at Blea Tarn

For some relaxed photos together they headed over to lovely little place called Blea Tarn. With the Langdale mountains in the distance it was just beautiful. Afterwards, on returning to New Dungeon Ghyll to continue their wedding, there was a surprise surf simulator for the guests to enjoy. This was the Australian twist. A evening party and dancing and to the end of what was just a gorgeous wedding and a delight to capture for them both.
