Manchester Documentary Wedding Photographer – 50 Photos

I absolutely loved Nigel and Carly’s wedding earlier this summer which was held at both Great John Street Hotel and Manchester Town Hall. I think this must be one of my favourite wedding venue combinations as both venues are unique and have so much character about them. It was a beautiful summer’s day in the city centre. Because it is only a short distance between the venues, black cabs were the transport of choice which was very in keeping with this city centre wedding. Nigel has Jewish roots and the Jewish wedding tradition of lifting the bride and groom on chairs was done at the end of the night, alongside Israeli music played by Munch, the wedding band. Nigel and Carly asked me to photograph their Manchester wedding in my documentary wedding photographer style, below are just 50 photos out of hundreds they got from their day.

Documentary Wedding Photographer in Manchester

I’m not a fan of posing for the camera myself, and when someone points the camera in my direction I give the most awkward smile. My style of wedding photography was born from this. I don’t believe a wedding should be about the photography. As a Manchester documentary wedding photographer, I don’t stop the proceedings of the day at all, no stopping, no posing, just enjoy your wedding day and pretend you didn’t hire a photographer at all. Real Moments = Real Memories. Each and every photo I take is a real memory captured of a moment that happened. Most the photos I take I wouldn’t be able to pose if I wanted to. This is what make them look so natural. Below is just 50 photos from Nigel and Carly’s day, and although they did have a very short list of formal family group photos, 99% of the photos I took were entirely un-posed. Each and every photo below was captured without direction or instruction. Please feel free to leave a comment at the end.
