A glorious summer outdoor wedding photography at Maunsel House in Somerset. Roanna and Bob had the most perfect wedding and it was a job to attend as a photographer. Located near Bridegwater, this 13th centrally mansion house was the setting for this incredible wedding day that had an outdoor ceremony, and fireworks to finish the night. Natural & relaxed wedding photography without posing at Maunsel House. I’m available to photograph your Maunsel House wedding. Please get in touch to see if I am free for your day.

Both Ronanna and Bob had their wedding preparations at the country house. Maunsel House is a touch eccentric which reflects Sir Benjamin Slade would is the owner. The rooms are huge with lovely large windows allowing for light to flood onto the subjects for photos. The building is surrounded by 2000 acres of impressive parkland, manicured gardens and a gorgeous pergola which was were the newlyweds had their wedding ceremony. The approach to Maunsel House is lined with sweet chestnut trees which gives a great first impression for your guests as they arrive to celebrate with you.
The sun couldn’t have been shining brighter. This was a hot day but you wouldn’t have wanted it any other day because it meant the wedding could be enjoyed outside amongst the floral decorations. All the guests congragated in the grounds while they awaited the bride and groom to arrive. Bob arrived first with his groomsmen and then the bride walked down the isle with her father. Her dress looked just incredible in the outdoor grounds of Maunsel House. Followed was a meaningful ceremony with family. Cocktail hour after that became the scene of crazy golf for the kids, and plenty of drinks for the adult guests. As a professional photographer I made many compositions with my camera and lens with people smiling and taking natural unposed portraits of people and what was happening.

Maunsel House is a little different to most venues. Full of military memorabilia it offers a quirky feels to your wedding that your guests will love. It’s ‘daringly different’ as described by the Maunsel House website. Suitable for up to 170 guests this is the ideal country mansion and just incredible to photograph at. It is just incredible being a Maunsel House wedding photographer – a job I really love. If you want an indoor wedding then Maunsel House offers the ballroom. This is a regency room full of portraits displayed on the walls, decorative chandeliers above and candelabras adorning the old furniture. However, if it is an outdoor wedding ceremony then the outdoor bandstand is the place to be. A canopy amongst the trees has to be one of the most pictures locations to have a wedding in Somerset. Karen themed weddings are very popular at the moment and this is exactly what Bob and Roanna had.

The pergola is where you can have a semi-outdoor meal. Set within the Victorian walled garden, surrounding the apple orchard and country garden, this is the place to be. In the summer I couldn’t think of a more romantic setting to have your meal, and it certainly offered great light for making wedding photos. A big shout out to Rhys Beddoe for shadowing me on this wedding as part of my mentoring programme. Some of the photos above are his.
After the meal it was time for some very funny speeches, before the evening party started. The wedding night finished with great entertainment with the guests treated to fireworks. I loved being a Maunsel House wedding photographer and I am looking forward to the next one.
