Elinor & Daniel hired me after seeing me as a guests at their friends wedding last year. Before heading to Fisherman’s Retreat for their wedding reception, they had a beautiful church service in the Lancashire hills not far from the venue. Such a lovely priest too who respected photography and how important it is. Elinor & Daniel have a two year old daughter who entertained everyone all day and was just brilliant. After their service they headed over to have their Fisherman’s Retreat wedding reception – what a stunning location. With it’s own pond/lake and views over the hills it was perfect for some relaxed photos of Elinor and Daniel together.
During the meal there was a surprise. I’m pretty sure it was only me and the couple that new that there were going to be surprise singing waiters (The Best Singing Waiters). Just before dessert was served, one of the waiters who had been serving drinks and canopes all afternoon, stood at the front and told all the guests that it was tradition for the newest waiter to make a toast. So he did, but then burst out into song. At this time the sun was starting to set behind the huge glass windows in the breakfast room, and what great timing. The bride, the groom, and many of the guests all got up dancing and the sun just added to the creativity of the photos. I couldn’t have been enjoying this wedding more.
To be honest I did start to panic a little. With the incredible sunset over the hill in the distance, was desperate to take Elinor and Daniel for some really special shots together with the orange sun. I needn’t have fretted, the waiters finished their set and there was still plenty of time. First we used the lake, then we walked up the hill a little to get the most beautiful view possible. If you are reading this and having a Fisherman’s Retreat wedding yourself, I can’t promise you the sunset, but if you did get it – WOW!
A massive congratulations to Elinor and Daniel, what an incredible day! Thank you to Andrew Keher for assisting on this.
