So excited to receive a phone call from Ruth asking me if I was available to be her and Mark’s Anglesey wedding photography, of course I was delighted. When she told me that they were having a beach wedding on the island of Anglesey (Wales) and that their reception will be in a Yurt nearby, I couldn’t have been more excited! I was so nervous for them leading up to the wedding as everything depended on the weather. You only have to look at the photos above and below this out of the corner of your eye that they had the most glorious day ever! Blue sea, blue sky and blue suits to match. This was a Anglesey wedding photography experience to remember.

My love for photographing weddings on Anglesey
In recent years I have fallen in love with Anglesey and our family even have a small house on the island to spend holidays at. My love for this magical place started with this very wedding. It was so incredible, and the backdrop and scenery was like nothing else I had seen it gripped me. I have returned to Anglesey a couple of times to photograph weddings and would very much like to do so more regularly.
For couples who want a high-standard of photography, but LOVE the idea of NOT posing.
Wedding Photography on this incredible Island
After the Anglesey beach wedding ceremony, all the guests headed to the Yurt for drinks. I took Ruth and mark along the beach for some stunning photos. Because the sun was beating down, and no shade to speak of, these are actually very difficult conditions to photograph in. I was so pleased they agreed to take a walk along the cliffs for a different perspective. I had such an incredible time photographing this Anglesey beach wedding.
Anglesey Adventures, Beaches and Beyond
Anglesey is one of the most sought after locations in the UK, sitting near the north west cast of Wales. Just a short journey over the Britannia Bridge, and the Menai Strait and you have arrived. The Island is only small, but is surrounded by the most beautiful coastline. The coast includes bays, with sandy beaches and some luxurious hotels to stay and have holidays. Weddings on the Island are very common. It is also a hotspot for professional and keen photographers because of the stunning backdrops and scenery available to take pictures. Capturing photos here is easy and very rewarding. You will often find people walking around with cameras swinging from their necks, and long lenses too. There are a variety of places to have your wedding ceremony on Anglesey, and none are better than on a beach. Now, it is welsh law that you cannot have a legal ceremony on a beach as it is not licensed for civil ceremonies. Like Ruth and Mark, you have the option to do the legal service a different day, and then have your own ceremony to remember.
What a memorable day! My first beach wedding and I can’t wait until my next. I will hopefully be returning to Anglesey again soon for another wedding. If you are getting married then please get in touch. You can view the gallery of James and Susan’s wedding on the island also.

This is easily my favourite wedding of yours dave, perfectly captured!
Ahh David – This takes me back to my own civil over in New Zealand. We had an elopement and then a traditional Hindu ceremony here in Manchester ❤️ Gorgeous photos
Gorgeously captured, David! And I love how different the wedding is, just beautiful. 🙂
Gorgeous set of photos David, looks like they had a fun day! Especially loving those beach portraits. 🙂
Brilliant coverage David… Love the shot of the daughter playing in the sand when they are saying their vows!! Love it 🙂
Fantastic coverage, what a great setting for a wedding! Love the first shot! Steve.
These are gorgeous. Can I ask what beach this was on Anglesey?
Hi Rebekah, it was a bit of a special wedding. The beach was in the area of Trearddur Bay, but can’t remember the name of the exact one. Near the activity centre on the island.
Beach is called Porth Dafarch, located between Bae Trearddur and South Stack (Ynys Lawd)
